50 years of Palmer Station Winterover Pictures

Palmer Station celebrated 50 years of operation this year. The Navy was here first as in McMurdo station and Amundsen South Pole Station. Winterover crew  pictures are taken at the South Pole and Palmer stations and hung on the "Hall of Fame" commonly referred to as "Rogue Gallery"!

I took pictures of all the winterover pictures here at Palmer. Some aren't the best quality but they are all classic. It is an honor to have served here, the South Pole and McMurdo.

Our 2018 picture will be taken soon and then hung on "Rogues Gallery."

  1. Thank you for sharing this bit of history. I was looking for one of my Crossland cousins, but not sure if they were ever at Palmer. Some of the crews were quite small in number....a bit tough for me to comprehend. I am cleaning out the frig and know you will be ready to do some cooking! The Church Fair is the weekend you return so clam chowder is on the agenda! Take care and keep us posted on the fun stuff! Love always, andee
