More Pictures

I have been uploading my Palmer Station videos to YouTube. On the settings (the small gear on the bottom right side of the viewing screen) select HD for the best quality.

The seaice is starting to freeze over.

A view of the continent.

Driving to work with a passenger.

Palmer Station is powered by two 250KW diesel generators along with a smaller emergency backup.

Everyone on station cycles through weekend (Sundays) station watches which includes the power plant and making station rounds.
Sastrugi - parallel wavelike ridges caused by winds on the surface of hard snow, especially in polar regions.

The South Pole surface is full of sastrugi.

The sea is freezing over. Hermit Island in the back.

An iceberg enclosed in ice in front of Hermit Island.

Three faces of a cold hike.

The seaice is starting to freeze over.

Palmer Station backyard and two radio High Frequency (HF) Antennas that I work on.

A beautiful sunset glowing off the continent.
