Midwinter

Our midwinter picture is composed of the rest of the summer crew that left the next day plus the crew of the Lawrence M. Gould. We are now down to 20 souls onboard.

Midwinter dinner.

A fine group of winterovers.

A fine selection of appetizers and wine.

Kristen cooking up a real feast!

Duck and lobster.

Freshly baked bread.

Palmer fashion!

There are about 20 countries that support winter stations. We all send each other midwinter greetings on the winter solstice. It marks a time of history of Antarctic exploration.

Midwinter greetings from around the continent and sub-Antarctic islands.

An additional greeting from our friends in the Arctic!

  1. Great to see these greetings and pictures! Who is the crazy guy on the South Pole without his gear on? I know you are enjoying the chefs baking and delicious food this winter. Kristen seems to be a happy person and if her food makes life bearable, enjoy! Take care, andee
