Palmer Station on the edge of Anvers Island. |
The water at this island is so clear and 30 feet deep. |
Working our way through the brash ice. |
A very scary and large leopard seal. This species of seal is known for its massive reptilian-like head and jaws that allow it to be one of the top predators in its environment. |
This guy was very inquisitive as we drove by. Their heads and teeth are huge. |
They do attack people and pretty much eat anything they want. Their only natural enemy is the killer whale. |
Captain Mike! |
Pancake ice forming from the grease ice. |
Sunrise from the sea. |
What a beautiful spot for Palmer Station. |
My home for the next 6 months. |
To the sun. |
Home sweet home. |
